Gold Medal for Tarapacá Gran Reserva Etiqueta Negra in Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada 2016

Gran Reserva Tarapaca Etiqueta NegraThe results were recently announced for the 23rd version of the Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canadá International Wine Championship, which takes place each year in the city of Quebec. It is considered one of the country’s most important wine competitions.

The organization received two thousand wines from different countries this year, and of those, 430 Gold Medals and 161 Silver Medals were awarded.

Viña Tarapacá stood out with Gold Medal for its Tarapacá Gran Reserva Etiqueta Negra Cabernet Sauvignon 2013.

This wine from the Maipo Valley is crafted with 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot grapes. It is characterized by black fruit notes, lavender, dark chocolate and licorice, integrated with oaky notes in the middle palate; flavorsome on the palate and with a long, smooth finish.

The 2013 version is noted for its beautiful contrast of elegant sweet fruit, grainy tannins and a pleasant texture on the palate.
