The results were recently announced for the 22nd version of the Sélections Mondiales des Vins, Canada. The event takes place each year in the city of Quebec, and is considered one of the most important wine competitions in North America.
The organization received 2,151 samples from over 30 countries and of those, only 13 won the Grand Gold Medal, 369 received Gold Medal and 263 received Silver Medal.
Viña Tarapacá stood out as the only Chilean winery to receive the competition’s highest acknowledgement, and was awarded the Grand Gold Medal for the Tarapacá Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul 2012.
Tarapacá Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul 2012 is the top-end wine from “The Gran Reserva of Chile” range, leading a portfolio comprised of three labels: Negra, Blanca, and Azul.
Etiqueta Azul has enjoyed widespread commercial success since it was first launched in 2013, and its first harvest sold out completely within just three months.
The wine is a blend from the Maipo Valley, crafted using the finest Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes from each harvest.
